Let’s start by looking at the claims of the product:
The clinically tested, extreme covering Make up Cover was created as the first of its kind in Europe and one of the first in the world. The license for this foundation was eventually sold to Hollywood. It contains 50% pigments, which makes it a weapon against skin imperfections. DERMACOL MAKE-UP COVER provides PERFECT COVERAGE even in thin layers and is the perfect corrector for dark under-eye, unpleasant spots and skin blemishes. It completely covers acne, loss of pigmentation, post surgical bruising, tattoos etc. It may be used on the entire face or body for color correction, darkening or lightening the skin tones, and ensuring ideal balance. It is widely used as a professional make-up for photo or film shoots, modeling and for festive occasions.
I bought it because it was supposed to be an extremely full coverage and affordable foundation. I got shade 208 on eBay for about $12 and received free shipping. I was hoping this could be my new holy grail full coverage foundation.
Primer Used: NYX Hydra Touch
Formula: It very thick and creamy with a slightly slick feel to it.
Color: Shade 208 is light enough for my fair skin but it is too pink. I typically use a foundation that has a neutral undertone. From other reviews I have read shade 207 is actually darker than shade 208 so that’s why I didn’t get that shade.
Amount: You only need to use about a pea sized amount of product for your entire face. It really goes a long way.
Application: I put it on half of my face with a beauty blender and the other half I used the Sigma F80 Kabuki brush. I preferred the way it applied with the Beauty Blender. It looked much more natural and skin like. The product seemed to sit on top of the skin on the side that I used the brush.
Coverage: This is full coverage, there is no doubt about that! I found that I got a little more coverage when I used a brush.
Pores: My pores looked much less visible on the side that I used the Beauty Blender.
Finish: It has a satin and skin like finish, not too matte and not too dewy.
Setting Powder: I set this foundation with the Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder.
Check-Ins: At 6 hours it has worn off my nose and chin and sunk into my wrinkles. My forehead was looking shiny and I don’t usually have oil skin. It did not seem to be sitting on the skin well. At 9 hours my nose was completely base and I had the same problems as the 6 hour mark. I have included pictures below that show what it looks like at 6 hours and at 9 hours.
Wear Time: 6 Hours
Final Thoughts: I don’t like this foundation, at all! It sinks into my wrinkles really badly, it looks greasy throughout the day, it doesn’t have a good wear time, it’s the wrong undertone for me and it sits poorly on the skin….
