How To

How to Make Liquid Lipsticks Comfortable

Liquid Lipsticks have been overtaking the beauty community for a couple of years now, for good reason. They look great, last forever and don’t get on your teeth. The one down side to them is that they can be drying if you wear them all day. The formulas have been getting more comfortable but in the end it is still matte and dry. I have found a hack that makes any liquid lipstick creamy and not drying while not losing any longevity of the liquid lipstick.

I found this hack originally because I was trying to deepen up a couple of my liquid lipstick shades that were too light for me. I then discovered that it not only fixed the shade but improved the formula.

What I do is I take a little of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème in Slow Burn and mix it with the stila Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick in Bellissima. I mix it together on a palette and apply it with a lip brush. The best combination that I have found is 2/3 Liquid Lipstick and 1/3 Liquid Cream Lipstick. They will transfer a little in the beginning but don’t worry once that top layer has transferred, you will be good to go!img_1852

The only downfall to this hack is that you have to be ok with changing the color of the liquid lipstick. Also, the Marc Jacobs Lip Creme is an expensive product. I have not tried these products for this hack but I have seen that the Maybelline Color Jolts and the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are dupes for the Marc Jacobs.

If that is the case then you could just pick a color that matches the liquid lipstick you want to use as to not alter the color too much.
